One of general manager John Schneider’s more underrated early acquisitions, Clemons was acquired in the 2010 offseason, along with a fourth-round pick, in exchange for defensive end Darryl Tapp, and he went on to be the team’s best pass rusher early in the Pete Carroll/John Schneider era. After bouncing around early in his career from Washington to Oakland to Philadelphia, Clemons got his first chance to be a starter in Seattle, and he went on to lead the Seahawks in sacks for three straight seasons, recording 33.5 sacks from 2010-2012. Coming off an ACL injury in the 2012 postseason, Clemson saw his role decrease some in 2013 following the acquisition of Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril, but he was still a starter and key piece of that year’s defense that led the team to a Super Bowl victory.
In just four seasons with the Seahawks, Clemson totaled 38.0 sacks, the eighth most in team history.
