Williams was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the first round of the 1992 NFL Draft, where he played for four seasons, recording 11 interceptions. He joined Seattle in 1996 and during his second season with the team, he posted a career-high eight interceptions, tying for second-most in the NFL, including three in a single game—a feat that tied Kenny Easley's franchise record. As a result, Williams earned Pro Bowl and second-team AP All-Pro honors, while also being named Seahawks Team MVP by his teammates and, the following year, being named team captain. Over his four seasons with Seattle, Williams totaled 20 interceptions, tied for the eighth-most in franchise history. After his successful stint with the Seahawks, he returned to Cincinnati for two more seasons before retiring.
