A member of the Seahawks Ring of Honor, Brown joined the Seahawks in 1976 via the expansion draft after spending his rookie year in Pittsburgh. After spending one season at free safety, Brown moved to cornerback and went on to play 11 seasons in Seattle, starting 159 games, which ranks seventh in franchise history.
Brown finished his career as the franchise leader in interceptions with 50, interception return touchdowns (five), and interception return yards (643), while also finishing ninth in tackles with 684. Brown earned Pro-Bowl and second-team AP All-Pro honors in 1984 when he had eight interceptions, including two interception return touchdowns in a win over Kansas City in which the Seahawks had four interception return touchdowns. A four-time team captain and the team’s Man of the Year nominee in 1982, Brown returned to the Seahawks as a defensive backs coach from 1992-1998.
