Bellamy joined the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers in 1994, and would go on to establish himself first as a special teams standout and later as a starting safety. A two-time special teams captain, Bellamy led the team in special teams tackles with 16 in 1996, then from 1998-2000, he started every game at safety, recording 11 interceptions and 290 tackles during those three seasons. Bellamy’s 2000 season saw him record 87 tackles, 2.0 sacks and four interceptions, tying him for the team lead in that category. He also returned one of those interceptions 84 yards for the only touchdown of his career. Bellamy signed with the Saints after that 2000 season, playing seven more seasons in New Orleans.
