Jordan Babineaux began his NFL career as an undrafted rookie out of Southern Arkansas who started his rookie season on the practice squad. Seven seasons later, he finished his Seahawks career known as “Big Play Babs,” a versatile defensive back who had a knack for making game-changing plays in big moments. Most famously, Babineaux chased down Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo after a botched field goal snap to preserve a Wild Card playoff win in the 2006 season. The previous year, also against Dallas, Babineaux had an interception in the final seconds of a tied game to set up the game-winning field goal, giving the Seahawks one of the franchise-record 13 wins that would allow them to clinch the NFC’s top seed that year. Babineaux also had a pick-six in a 2008 Wild Card win over Washington. In all, Babineaux appeared in 99 games for the Seahawks starting 29, including all 16 games in 2009, and he finished his Seahawks career with 10 interceptions, seven forced fumbles and 32 passes defensed.
