Johns played for the Seahawks for four seasons after being signed by the team as an undrafted free agent. Johns was a punt return specialist who was top-10 in the NFL in punt return yards during two seasons, 1982 (No. 7) and 1983 (No. 10). Johns returned two punts during his career for touchdowns. Johns is also in the top-10 in Seahawks record books for punt returns (74), punt return yards (843) and punts returned for touchdowns (2). Johns was also the Seahawks 1983 Man of the Year nominee.
