After four seasons at safety for what was then Seattle’s AFC West division rival Kansas City, Tongue signed with the Seahawks as a free agent. During his four seasons in Seattle’s secondary, he played 63 games and recorded 12 interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns. Tongue’s best season statistically occurred in 2002 when he recorded five interceptions, 10 passes defensed, two fumble recoveries, and 105 total tackles. After his time in Seattle, he played a season each for the New York Jets and Oakland Raiders.
