Tuten signed with Seattle as a free agent punter after spending his first two seasons with Philadelphia and Buffalo. He led the NFL in punting yards in back-to-back seasons from 1992-93 and his 108 punts in 1992 are still tied for 7th most in a season in NFL history. In 1994, Tuten was named to the Pro Bowl and earned second-team All-Pro honors. He also led the NFL in yards per punt in 1995 (45.0). Seattle named Tuten special teams captain in 1996 and nominated him Seahawks Man of the Year in 1997. He still holds the franchise record for most punts in a game (12), most punts inside the 20 in a game (6), and the third-longest in-game punt (73 yards). Tuten's career totals in Seattle rank behind only Jon Ryan for the second-most punts (554) and punting yards (24,266). After his time in Seattle, he spent his final two seasons with the St. Louis Rams, including during their Super Bowl XXXIV win over the Titans.
