A highly touted cornerback out of Ohio State, Shawn Springs was the third overall pick of the 1997 NFL Draft by the Seahawks which is the highest pick the franchise has ever used on a defensive back. After playing 10 games as a rookie, Springs broke out in his second season as he intercepted a career high seven passes on his way to the Pro Bowl. He went on to play his first seven seasons in Seattle, totaling 434 tackles, 20 interceptions and 55 passes defensed. Springs signed with Washington in free agency following the 2003 season and played his last season in the NFL with the New England Patriots in 2009.
