A player out of the University of Washington, Moon played in the NFL for 17 seasons, after having played in the CFL for six seasons prior. Moon’s career began in the CFL after not being drafted, because of racist stereotypes, coaches assumed he lacked the smarts to play quarterback. Moon went on to have a successful career in the CFL and an even more successful run with the Houston Oilers. Although Moon played for Seattle towards the end of his career, he was still selected to the Pro Bowl during his first season with the Seahawks and was then named MVP of the Pro Bowl that year. He ended his NFL career as a nine-time Pro Bowler, 1984 NFL All-Rookie member, 1989, NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year, 1990 NFL Offensive Player of the Year, and is now in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
